Here's a handy tip, blog followers...
When fitting an SA conversion, using a beetle box, you can use beetle back plates, shoes and cylinders, but you have to use early split drums and have to have a little machining done in order for them to fit.
This enables you to keep the wide 5!
A 30mm spacer is needed for the handbrake cables and I've found that if you flip the back plates and swap them from side to side, the handbrake cables fit snug, however you do have to shorten the handbrake spring.
